29 days of smiles

Did you know, February 2024 is a Leap Year and that means 29 calendar days this month! Here's your February Newsletter from Little Champions Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics.

Happy Leap Year

Yep, 2024 is a leap year, meaning there is an extra day at the end of February. Since leap year happens every four years, our last leap days were in 2020 and 2016, and the next leap year will happen in 2028. Enjoy your extra day this month!

Why use a laser in pediatric dentistry?

It's a question we get asked a lot.

Here's an example. We recently had a teenage patient come in because of a painful cheek bite, making meals a struggle for an entire week.

Our Diode laser from Biolase helped seal the affected area and worked wonders on the nerve, all without the need for local anesthesia! This painless procedure provides immediate relief, making recovery quick and easy

What's even more impressive? Instead of another patient enduring a two-week recovery period, the healing took only one to two days for a pesky canker. Read more about this in our recent blog.

  • No need for local anesthesia

  • No need for suturing

  • Treat a painful mouth issues

  • Faster recovery time

National Children’s Dental Health Month

Dental hygiene is one of the most important things we can teach our children. Unfortunately, for a lot of parents, getting kids to brush and floss their teeth is like … well, like pulling teeth. But if we want to protect our kids teeth, we’ve got to show them the ins and outs of proper dental health.

Luckily, February here and that means it’s National Children’s Dental Health Month. This is a great reminder for us all: "Brush your teeth with fluoride toothpaste and clean between your teeth for a healthy smile.”

Happy Valentine's Day

Little Champions Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics would like to wish all your little ones and loving families out there a happy Valentine’s day.

What is a Valentine’s Day without chocolates and candy? It is okay to eat sweets on special occasions. Make sure your kids eat smart, so your little ones do not get sugar bugs on this sweet day of love.
